Patient families from Bristol Children’s Hospital and fundraisers for The Grand Appeal were invited to an exclusive preview screening of the new Shaun the Sheep film, The Beast of Mossy Bottom, in Bristol on Saturday 12 September.

A lucky group joined the film’s hardworking production crew for an exclusive early screening before it was released in cinemas. Guests enjoyed royal treatment, including goody bags with posters and stickers, free ice cream courtesy of Yeo Valley and the chance to see three real film sets up close.

This Shaun the Sheep story sees the flock and the rest of Mossy Bottom and Mossington town getting ready for Halloween. And you guessed it, simple farmyard fun quickly turns into incredible capers and creepy twists and plot turns.

The three sets on show at the screening included a ghoulish display of Halloween costumes in a shop window, a veterinary clinic room with the Farmer in very funky attire and the bridge of a big boat. No spoilers here, but you can already tell that this Shaun’s new adventure takes us to new and wonderful places.

Shaun the Sheep and Aardman deliver endless laugh-out-loud moments for children and adults alike, along with cheeky nods to other famous films. Eagle-eyed viewers should also watch out for a sneaky appearance from the devilish Feathers McGraw.

From the inspired intro, where the characters perform a farmyard version of a thriller dance routine, to pumpkin carving and a hair-raising challenge for all the characters, to the final happy ending for the farmer and the whole flock, you’ll be glad you caught this latest instalment of Shaun’s adventure.
