Bristol's Own 'Private Gromit' Figurine
'Bristol's Own' is paying tribute to the loyal canine service members who served in World War I. Artist Susan Webber was inspired by stories of Bristol's 12th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment. During WWI, dogs not only served as companions to the troops, but were also used as scouts, messengers, food carriers, and guard dogs. Take a peek at his back satchel and you'll find a love letter to his sweetheart, Poppy.
